In the Dune Universe there is no artificial intelligence due to the butlerian holy war, this leads instead to several groups forming in Dune and taking the place of thinking machines and the power structures left in there wake. In this video I will explain these groups such as the spacing guild and what the places and links are between each in the universe.

We will be covering the spacing guild how and what they transport, CHOAM and who runs it, the Great Houses and who sits on the throne of the imperium, the power structure of the Landsraad and how business is done in the great houses within it, the Bene Gesserit sisterhood and who they aid, the mentats and the role they play in replacing machines and on the fringes the Ixians on the edge of violating the holy war and the genetical manipulators the Tleilax.

This video will briefly summarise things as they stand at the start of the first dune book with a little on the jihad and how things got that way. This is intended to be background only and contain no major spoilers for the books.
