Welcome to another video in the Fable TLC Modding Guide series, where I will try and explain the basics for people who are new to modding Fable and help them learn the things they need to get started. This will include guides on how to install certain software, such as the tools used for editing the games data files. Along with explanations on how to avoid certain mistakes.

This time we will be looking at the FreeRoam App, which is fairly small in comparison to other mods you might have installed. But still serves a great purposes for those who can't get the ChocolateBox program running or anyone who wants to walk outside the boundaries of a map.As the name of this mod suggests, it allows you to roam freely outside the intended parts of the maps.

If you open up ChocolateBox's region editor and use the "walk function" you will notice that only certain parts of the map are traversable. However, FreeRoam changes this by making every part of the game's maps a designated path for the player to walk on. This can help them go through certain objects or walk over inclines that the game would normally prevent you from accessing.

This can be great fun for people who want to take a few screenshots, make a mod that edits the space outside the intended map area or just to see Albion from a different perspective to usual.

Update: If you aren't using ChocolateBox then finalAlbion.wad has to be renamed for the mod to work. In the tutorial I open ChocolateBox and it renames it for me automatically, which is something that totally flew over my head (Thanks to KraftMacandChee for pointing this out).

Steps on how to install Free Roam:
-------------------------------------------------------------
1) Download FreeRoam.zip
2) Extract it into its own folder
3) Open the new .exe file you just extracted
4) Press file and then open at the top of the window that pops up
5) Look for the .WAD file that is located in your game's level folder
6) Once that has finished, press the giant "RIP!" button
7) Use the WAD ripper outside the level folder (inside data)
