Fake Elixir Strings vs Real Elixir Strings (take it not for 100% right, i tried my best)
25First of all sorry for my bad English, but i think its important to make attention, that there are more and more fake Elixir strings in the circulation.
The fakes have really good looking packagings. They put so much afford to make the illusion, that you bought real ones, that its very hard to recognize.
I hope, i can help a little bit with this video, to see at least some differences, if you are unlucky and get the fake Elixir strings.
Please do not take it for 100 percent granted that i am right. I can only tell you, what i noticed so far.
- Look out for the Seal in the back :
the original perforation has much more teeth than the fake ones
- Look out for the colour of the packaging:
the fake ones are much darker than the original
- Look out for the paper around the string:
the fake strings paper is sloppy folded and can have dirty rusty coloured stains
If you are not sure look out for more videos on youtube or go to a music store you can trust.
