I do apologise about the quality issues on this video, I started editing this in hitfilm, only to have it start crashing over and over just near where I found the pipboy. I should have just started over, but instead I exported it in what hitfilm described as an uncompressed, full quality format. It turned out to be h264 and 24fps, but not knowing that and thinking I had artefact free footage, I brought that into da vinci resolve as a combined video and added the last few minutes on from there. End result is that the majority of this video has been compressed three times, and has a disproportionate amount of compression artefacting as a result.

I love da vinci's colour editing suite, but had no experience with it as an nle. It seemed the most likely high quality solution that I had free access to however so I gave it a go. It struggled with the game captures I was trying to load on my system, it obviously is a powerful piece of software and does a lot more than simply load the files into memory, so my machine started to creak and editing that last minute or so of footage was painfully slow, taking two days, most of that time spent waiting for the last crop I had actioned to be reloaded. When it was rendered, that last section of the video had audio sync issues, with some of my voiceover just not being rendered at all. I can't face another bout with the project though, so, while I'm not happy with the results, it is good enough to frame the actual LP, it provides the intro I wanted and I only hope that you reserve judgement on the quality of the work until you have seen the first episode, for which I will be finding a new, better solution!
