As I tend to do, I first wanted to make something that wasn't supposed to be part of the FarCry setting. So no islands here; no valleys or shantytowns; this is a metropolis... Err, part of one, at least.
It's bigger than I thought it was going to be, and because of that, the amount of detail that I added makes the frame rate chug a bit. Aside from that, I'm somewhat satisfied. I would have play-tested it a lot before calling it final, but we all know that's not as simple as it once was.
Oh yeah, description... It's like an inner city (hence) district of a larger city. Since they don't have any pristine brushes the best I could do is build structures with bullet-ridden walls and crusty floors, which (also hence) is why I went with the inner city inspiration. I guess gang violence spilled out into the streets or some such, whatever you want to think of to make this believable. Oh and in case you be wondering, inner city is a nice way of saying 'the low-income part of town'.
It's got underground sewers (as opposed to those disgusting above-ground ones), warehouses, gas station/convenience store and a streetball court. Long line of sight down main street, but plenty of cover on either side, as well as tunnel access to avoid crossing the street.
Well, that's about it. Basically my first crack at the editor (since FC2 died) and hopefully not a waste of time. I'll add more screenshots if there be demand for such things. And please, if you are organizing a match, let me know! I want in. Otherwise, comments, critiques and complaints are welcome.
