Let's check out that new sword we got. Cloud needs to stay in back row for this one, so regular attacks won't be very effective, but at least we'll get more damage from magic and limit breaks. The first two forms are easy, but the third is an absolute nightmare with the statuses. If he keeps putting you to sleep and Regen runs out, it's very likely over. That's why he must be taken care of as quickly as possible and you need to save your limit breaks for the beginning of this battle.

However, this didn't go exactly as planned. At the end of the second battle, I thought his last attack would give Barret a limit break, so I had Cloud finish him off. Then I noticed Barret didn't quite get his limit break, so I would have to hope for the best. Two Meteorains and one Ungarmax will finish him off, so you need to stay alive long enough for Cloud to get a second limit break. Barret needs to be on constant Regen duty and wake up Cloud if necessary. Bad luck can easily end the battle and there's not much you can do about it. Thankfully, I only needed a few attempts.
