FF8 (NLBNANGFNINR Challenge) Ep. 23 - Ruby Dragon
10So this technically isn't a boss, as it becomes a random encounter later in the game. However, it is much more boss-looking and stronger than most of the other bosses i've fought until now, so I'm going to include it.
Ruby Dragons are weak vs ice and Holy and will absorb Fire and Aero. It has a powerful attack called Ruby's Breath that does pretty deadly damage. It will only use it if there are 3 living party member in the fight. You can actually have Ward available in this fight too, but because I grabbed a magazine earlier in the game, he's absent for some reason. Had he been here though, I could have just let 1 character die to avoid it.
Additional things to note are, high level Ruby Dragons have Flare and Meteor to draw, but I'm not nearly close enough in level for that. If I had Tonberry though I could adjust enemy levels. But I don't.
