FFXIII: How to find Cactuars in Chapter 11
7When you get to Gran Pulse, you can unlock Cactuars to appear in the wild. Each killed Cactuar gives you 5000 CP, which is pretty good considering how easy they can be killed.
To find them, you have to go to the part protected by giant Adamantoises. Use the second entrance (protected by Adamantoise with its head pointing the other way) and go around the Adamantoise and make sure it does not touch you with its foot. Go around all the Adamantoises on the plain and go up the stair.
Kill the first Cactuar and then return the same way you got there, making sure no Adamantoise can touch you.
Now you can find Cactuars in the wild and hunt them.
