Similar to FF14, there are mechanics that makes it easier to determine what Sephy will do and how to kill him. Of course, having enough HP (4500+ HP) helps to survive his attacks easier.
NOTE: It IS possible to beat him even as low as 110k power, just gotta be a little more defensive and make sure you have at least 4500 HP and advantage of his attack pattern to deal as much damage as possible.
The key for me winning is to exploit his 2nd and 3rd Weakness BUT there is 1 condition:
- Make sure his HP is NOT below 50% when his 2nd Elemental attack is over, otherwise he will skip to the Enrage Phase. You must get him to do his 3rd Elemental Attack before going all out.
{Sephy's Attacks}
Aeolian Onslaught = single target
Telluric Fury = single target
Kaishin = AoE attack
Zanshin = single target
He generally combos with his attacks, beware.

Boundless Strength = ATK+ buff
Octaslash = High damage attack (around 4400+ damage)
{Sephy's Enrage Mode}
Hell's Gate = AoE attack + Stun
Octaslash = Instant Kill (7k+ damage)
