-Before starting you should not be riding on a Chocobo in any area. Making Lightning ride a chocobo will cause the game to crash.
-Lightning can not be in the first slot or most of your party menu options will be disabled.
-Most of her DLC moves do not work outside of battle. I don't know how to enable them.

First step is I suggest you make a backup. The AppData is a hidden folder under your user directory so you can't normally see it. Just go search for "Folder Options", open it, click the view tab, and click on "Show hidden files, folders, and drives". Head to this location "C:\Users\(Your Username)\AppData\Local\SquareEnix\FinalFantasyXIII-2" to backup your save.

Load your game and stay at the Historia Crux screen. Open up Cheat Engine and attach it to FFXIII-2. Open Shinkansen's cheat table, all downloads are linked above. Follow what I do in the video from 0:43-1:20. Make sure the character you want to replace is in the second slot, and that character's name (p_noel or p_sera) is in Cheat Engine.

Head into the Lightning DLC battle and pause the game once in battle. Freeze the four values from "Base Address" to "Identifier". Exit to the DLC menu, and then to the Historia Crux. In the video at 2:25, I turned off the scan for bass address, you don't have to do this yet. Leave it at yes and open the menu twice. Head back into the DLC battle menu and head back, Lightning now should be added into your party.

You can add your own abilities to Lightning with the Cheat Table provided above. Here is a list of abilities I made that you can use to fill in Lightning's abilities. It's not all usable abilities, but it is most of them.
