ALL ABOARD!

We're going off the rails on a MONSTER TRAIN! Mikey jumps in that fiery caboose to conduct some epic deck-building in this new rogue card battler game for Nintendo Switch.

This game has exceeded my expectations and has proven to be both fun and challenging. Between the endless numbers of strategies you can come up with, to the crazy spells, buffs, and monsters you'll see, Monster Train keeps is fresh the whole ride.

Since recording, I've tried multiple factions and have tasted my first victory. There is is a fairly steep difficulty curve running through the last couple of levels, but some of it depends on RNG as this is a rogue game and well - you never know exactly what will happen. That said, with a bit of ingenuity, and some luck, you shouldn't have much of a problem seeing at least a few bosses in your first few runs.

I enjoy the train-themed stops you'll make between bosses, stocking up with trinkets and goodies to fell your enemies, or perhaps stopping by a banner to add a new soldier to your army of hellish fiends. Speaking of hell, I thought it was an interesting idea to make YOU, the player, sort of the "bad guy" as you are essentially fighting as monsters from hell against the "winged" beings. While they may not exactly look like angels, it's okay because they don't act like them either (unless you count the ones in Bayonetta, then maybe).

I guess that means you are assuming the role of the red-tailed, pitchfork-wielding bottom-dweller himself, huh? Whatever your belief, keep your wits about you and you'll be sure to have a hell of a time.

Enjoy!
