Sony and Microsoft's first-party games and studios are slowly dwindling (Fable Legends, Superbot Entertainment), and that sucks for consumers. Instead of getting supremely polished first-party games, we're getting (annoyingly) timed third-party exclusives. A handful of first-party games in the past have pushed the medium to new heights (Gears of War, The Last of Us). I'm skeptical of this third-party exclusivity that both companies are pursuing, and although it might be in their best interests financially, it's bad for us gamers.
