This is the first off road ride on my new 2018 Husqvarna FE501, and also my first off road ride in about 10 years! So here's what I learned that I need:

1) More skill

2) New arms because mine almost fell off

3) At least +3 teeth on the rear sprocket, this thing is geared so that it can cruise on the freeway, but that makes 1st gear way too long for the real tight stuff. I'll also have a different wheelset for supermoto, which I can have my "street" gearing on.

4) A piggyback ECU that can reflash this "emissions friendly" lean tune that causes the bike to die every time you grab even a small handful of throttle at low rpm (Can be seen at 0:19, 0:27, 1:58, 2:06). That was the most frustrating part of the ride. On my old bike (XR650R), you could grab a handful of throttle even below idle speed and get all the power you need. I've heard with the Motec piggybacks it really wakes up though, so that's soon on the list.

I'm not sure exactly what direction I want to take the bike videos on the main channel, I've been pretty preoccupied with the Miata and I've still got quite a few videos lined up to work on! Also need to get my camera mounting/audio dialed in with some more testing.

Cheers
