Layers of Fear is the First Third Party Unreal Engine 5 Game on PC. Graphics Quality feels a real step up from UE4, as lighting, LOD, shadows and Global Illumination give the game a lifelike appearance. The game also supports all major Temporal Upscalers, (FSR, DLSS and XeSS) which do not seem to function properly. That isn't a problem though as the game also features another Temporal solution, called TSR (Temporal Super Resolution), which we first saw in games like GhostWire: Tokyo in UE4, and it looks really nice on even the Performance Setting at 1080P!

All in all, the game runs really well on the opening scenes at Medium-High Settings and has no stuttering or hitching, which can be seen in the Frame Time graph (as its almost a straight line!). This is a great first showing of the capabilities of UE5, but the REAL test is going to be open world games.
