Well... safe to say I really didn't see this coming so quickly after I got 2nd place. Insane Warp 1 (apparently?), decent Warp 2/Ship Dupe*, sick Warp 3, great Warp 4/Double Space Dupe**, and (as per usual) a mediocre Warp 5.
Not even gonna lie, I really thought the WR might be dead after missing the elevator cycle in Medieval Madness (and then waiting for a mask in Crash and Burn for about a second or two because I didn't have any and wasn't gonna risk the boulder killing me), instead it was what cost me a 49:3X :/
Anyway, I think amidst the hype at the end I forgot to shoutout the true MVP of all of this, McHooper, for discovering Space Dupe, which made me come back to this category in the first place... :,)
Chapters (for the YT feature thing):
00:00 - Start/Warp 1
10:22 - Warp 2
17:09 - (Single) Ship Dupe
20:44 - Warp 3
32:05 - Warp 4
36:23 - (Double) Space Dupe
42:59 - Warp 5
57:30 - DONE
*Credits to McHooper for this explanation of Ship Dupe: "So, there's an exploitable glitch called crystal duplication (dupe), it involves dying at the same time you destroy the final ship. You need to be high enough in the air so that Crash's death animation matches the same amount of time it'd take for the game to reward you with a crystal. After you respawn, the game keeps whatever crystal you have stored and rewards you with another one upon finishing the level normally. Can be done up to 4 times to skip the entire warp room, although it is NOT humanly viable at the moment."
**Space Dupe is essentially the same thing as Ship Dupe, except we utilize a so called "black hole" which can insta-kill you even after you shouldn't be able to die anymore, meaning with the right setup, it's possible to position yourself in a way that kills you just as you are rewarded with a crystal, instead of having to rely on enemy RNG, as is the case with Ship Dupe. I am currently opt-ing to do it "only" twice (on good paces that is), but skipping the level "Avalanche" in favor of another dupe could potentially save me about 15 or so extra seconds with the current setup I use.
Now, yes, quad dupe (skipping every level, going straight to Crashteroids, duping 4 times and then finishing it) is very much possible, but would really just be overkill and needlessly stressful for barely any extra gain, hence not worth it unless you are prepared to potentially throw the whole run away.
(Played the Korean version on a Fat 50k PS2 from HDD through OPL)
