FORTI CORSE: The last ever private team in Formula 1
Forti Corse s.r.l. (or LLC) is a italian team that raced in Formula 1 in 1995 and the first half of 1996 before this team collapsed.
In 1995, with the drivers Pedro Paulo Diniz and Roberto "Pupo" Moreno, the single-seater even if designed by Sergio Rinland and Giorgio Stirano, from the first tests it was realized that the Forti FG01-95 was a slow car.
Often relegated to low-ranking positions, changes were made to the cars halfway through the season, including a new nose piece, without leading to obvious improvements.
The following year, 1996, was negative as Diniz's move to Ligier deprived Forti of its financial resources.
The pilots who answered the Team Manager Cesare Fiorio were Luca Badoer and Andrea Montermini.
The behavior and competitiveness of the new Forti FG03 single-seater were also praised in the Monaco Grand Prix, where only bad luck prevented the 2 cars from reaching the points.
After the 1996 French Grand Prix, the decision was made to withdraw from the F1 Championship.
Here's a onboard lap with Roberto "Pupo" Moreno at the 1995 San Marino Grand Prix.
