What is 'Chester United'?

Chester United is a sequel to the game Chester: a 2D platformer with over 10 unlockable characters and 8 "styles" that you could change on the fly. These styles changed the entire look of the game and granted unique bonuses.
Chester has sold nearly 50,000 copies through XBLIG, Desura, and several bundles.

Chester United is going to add an incredible amount content, including:
Mac and Linux support
Completely redone art assets to make sure it looks great in HD (see below!)
Redone player physics to feel more natural
Each unlockable character is being redone from scratch to insure they all feel unique
Rebalancing of enemies and levels, plus new enemies and levels
Actual boss fights
More unlockable modes, styles, and characters
Improved PC and gamepad controls
Find out more of the (nonsensical) backstory

Overall this is more like a full sequel than an overhaul to be honest. If you've played the original Chester it should feel slightly familiar, but also incredibly improved and new.

Updated Art
The first thing you'll notice about Chester United compared to the original is the upgraded visuals.

These are still a work in progress, each style and world will be getting completely redone.

What are Styles?

Styles are one of the main gameplay mechanics of Chester. They allow you to change the entire look of the game and each grant unique bonuses. Think of them as equipment for the world.

A few seret ones
For United there are also a few planned new styles including Tattoo, 3D, and others.

Unlockable Characters

Each of the many unlockable characters is actually a Chester from a different universe. They can range from sketched versions, to classy gentlemen, to tanks and spaceships.
Each character has their own unique attacks that level up and become more powerful as you use them more. Some even control completely differently than others.
