I just can't get into this game. The mid 90's controls, endless scanning and constant backtracking has made me lose interest every time I've given it my best shot.
I also don't like that they made Metroid into a first person shooter.
The only new Metroid I've liked so far was Other M.

In Prime, at most, I've reached the Phazon Mines, I think, on my oldest save file. I started a new one recently because I didn't remember anything about what I had done in my old file and to me it feels kind of pointless to play a game from somewhere in the middle and onward if I don't have the first half fresh in my mind.

Anyway, here's some random gameplay early on in the game.

I have no idea where to go so I just wander around a lot and look/shoot at stuff.
