Roadbuster is one of the two deluxe vehicles released as part of the transformers line in 1985. Unlike the majority of the other figures he wasn't designed by the company Takara. Instead he was designed by the company Takatoku Toys for their Special Armored Battalion Dorvac series. Not long after making those toys Takatoku Toys went out of business and were bought by Takara's direct competitor Bandai. Do to their Bandai ownership all Takatoku designed toys featured in the transformers line were not allowed to release in Japan and didn't feature in the tv series. Inevitably making them some of the more obscure characters from G1 transformers.
