Gems of War - E12 teams (EP52) - Y'all got anymore of them skulls?
Yo what's up? Need your fix of skullspamming? I gotcha! Here we have another Beast build which rolls insanely good IMHO.
In the tank position we use Warden hero with Pridelands legendary weapon "Twin Claws". Twin Claws explode [Magic + 1] Green Gems and grants a random status effect to all Beast Allies. Then summons a Beast Troop. Yep, usually summoning weapons are slotted down in the deck order but not this time. Weapon upgrades have "Raging" which enrages our tank hero when you cast the weapon. When we pair enrage with Warden talent tree's Hunt (Hunter's Mark random enemy on extra turns), our hero becomes a killing machine with skull matches! Warden also has green storm at start, root trap to provide safety in the start, Banishment, Razor Armor, Saviour, you name it. Pick the ones you want, but if you want to use my setup just go ahead and pick the team share code at the bottom of the description. Anyway, weapon is used for mana generation, and while doing that you get nice status effects for your beast allies + that heavy enrage.
2nd slot goes to very popular Maugrim Woods Legendary troop "Forest Guardian". FG is one of those gems to skull converter troops, with a twist. He transforms purple gems to base skulls and transforms brown gems to green + allied beasts gain barrier! His 3rd trait also gives 50% start to all beast allies which makes this deck to start with 50% mana across the board. That barrier is very handy. Even if you just got reflects and other stupid random status effects from weapon cast, FG makes all your troops barriered when you cast it. And you will cast it a lot. FG also gains 1 Life when an ally casts a spell so that's little buff there too. More buffs to come though!
3rd slot goes to Sword's Edge Legendary duo Sir Quentin Hadley & his unnamed flying beast thingie. SQH converts Purple Gems to Yellow and Green Gems to Skulls and deals [Magic + 2] damage to 2 random enemies. Okay, now you might think wait, if Forest Guardian just converted purple gems to skulls, then there are no purple to convert to yellow if you cast Quentin Hadley? That is very much the case, however Forest Guardian left a shit ton of greens on the board what you can convert to skulls by using SQH and keep the loop going. And whatever purples there are left, they are converted to yellows, which lead us to the last troop.
Bottom slot goes to one of the latest campaign Boss troop additions "Skroll Reborn." Skroll Reborn creates 5 Yellow Gems and then converts all Yellow Gems to Doomskulls + Summons 1-3 Wargs incase you have lost troops. So those yellows what Sir Quentin Hadley left on the board will go BOOOM, and as doomskull explodes, it will generate mana from surrounded gems. At this point atleast one of your other troops are again ready to go, the board has been shuffled and you are good to keep the ball rolling. Skroll is Impervious, which makes him immune to all status effects (except Curse) and his 3rd trait gives 4 Attack to all Beast Allies when turn begins. Safe to say your hero will deal quite heavy skull damage by the assistance of the beast allies!
Skroll Reborn can be crafted in the Soulforge by using your Major Wisdom orbs and you get incredible value from those yellow orbs! Hatir version is quite expensive and not as effective as Skroll is. The campaign reward of Hatir & Skroll is okayish but frankly I think Skroll Reborn is the best of these troops and cheapest too!
Deck mechanics:
Get your hero weapon up.
Cast hero to generate mana.
Use your troops to generate extra turns with skull or gem conversion alignments.
Shuffle the board/Generate mana with hero weapon if necessary.
