Full game longplay of Gloomwood, released on 5/09/2022 into Early Access, version 0.1.214, longplay of all the content available thus far. Played in 2560x1440 resolution, v-sync on, capped to 60 fps, all settings at the highest possible, with AA off, and the Nvidia FXAA on (don't know why I did that, don't ask). Recorded in 1440p60 H265 NVENC. Note: sometimes the recording seems to look like the frames are dropping, but the FPS was constantly at 60, with some pretty sever framestuttering down to 59 FPS quite often. To be fixed I guess?

A spiritual successor to the Thief I and II games. (it even includes the quotes!) Gloomwood is a stealth horror FPS that follows your mysterious abduction to a forgotten, twisted Victorian metropolis in the midst of a horrifying transformation. Wield your canesword and take to the shadows as you uncover the accursed mystery hidden within the fog.

Content available as of yet:
- Fishery
- Factory/Docks area
- Mines
- Bridge and nearby areas leading to the Tavern (which is limited and under development now)
- Lighthouse
- City gates (with no way to enter for now, the side entry into the sewers is under development)

My impressions so far:
- Graphics are of course stylized, clearly Thief I and II inspired, with some modern effects and whatnot. Simple, not really advanced. Retro style. I guess they're fine when matched with the rest of the game.
- The ring showing your visibility is a hit-and-miss, it's much too small and not visible enough for my taste. Think, Splinter Cell Double Agent, and pretty big light on Fisher's back showing the visibility. Here it's a small little ring, it needs to be physically somehow bigger, perhaps with some visual indicator on stealth on the HUD. (unless it breaks the immersion of no hud esthetics clearly going on)
- Do consider the possibility of playing full non-lethal, for now there is no way to beat the opponents withouth killing them. I understand they are some kind of monsters/creatures, but non-lethal in a Thief-inspired game is a pretty must have thing, no? Also, a difficulty requiring a full ghost/no detections would be cool.
- I've played on Normal, though I think the enemies are too predictable, they are too limited in their behavior, there is nothing unpredictable about them. Maybe some animation showing peeking behind the corner, or the wall perhaps would suffice? They are as simple as a 1995 stealth game, even on the hardest difficulty I doubt they would be any actual challenge. I know it's probably a lot to ask of indie dev studio, but I'd like to see the AI more sophisticated, less predictable and not working by just one schematical behaviour.
- Sound is fine, no complaints there, soundtrack/ambience is also good, Thief-like.
- Hoping for a fan mission support is probably off the charts, no??? :))
- Hopefully the later City areas are filled with human, interactive characters, as the game so far seems to be one enemy-type fiesta. I'd like to see the City becoming like the one in Thief I/Thief II, scripted, but filled with human NPCs, quest givers and all.
- Oh, and for fuck sakes, please do not make that awful design decision to soft-lock the player if he falls into that swamp pit, if he accidentally activated the rope switch at the top. xD It's literally a guaranteed quickload.
- And also, make the guns be able to hit the switches/levers and all.

Overall, I very much liked this first Early Access release, but it's just judging by the very limited amount of content available so far, my overall impressions hugely depends on what the devs do with the City and what direction they take in that regard.
