Jaby, Michael, and Achara watch Glory (1989) for the first time and honor the patriots who have fought for the freedom of all Americans. Glory tells the powerful true story of the first all-Black volunteer company in the Union Army during the Civil War, as they fight prejudice and battle for freedom and recognition.

Glory was directed by Edward Zwick (The Last Samurai, Legends of the Fall, Blood Diamond). The main cast includes Matthew Broderick (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, WarGames, The Producers) as Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, Denzel Washington (Training Day, Malcolm X, Fences) as Private Trip, Morgan Freeman (The Shawshank Redemption, Million Dollar Baby, Se7en) as Sergeant Major John Rawlins, Cary Elwes (The Princess Bride, Saw, Robin Hood: Men in Tights) as Major Cabot Forbes, and Andre Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Homicide: Life on the Street, City of Angels) as Thomas Searles.
