Gorilla Tag VR is not a dying game. Yeah, it's a bit dry, but not every game has to be updated frequently, and cheaters are delaying an improvement. Gorilla Tag is still going strong. Subscribe for more!

In this Gorilla Tag VR video, I give my take on the is Gorilla Tag dying situation, to which I would respond, no it isn't dying. Gorilla Tag is an amazing game, and it won't die until something comes out to best it. Gorilla Tag player counts mean nothing with so many variables. Gorilla Tag is the best free vr game on meta oculus quest, meta oculus quest 2, and steam vr virtual reality headsets. Is Gorilla Tag Dying? No It isn't.

There has been a lot of talk recently that Gorilla Tag is a dying game, and that's just not true. Maybe in your opinion it has been dry, which it has been, but that's not the game dying.
Part 1: Population
Post-Christmas time, the player count was hitting over 60K players at peak times.
Around now it's around 25K.
This loss of player count has nothing to do with the game dying.
It held people for awhile, but it would be expected for a downturn in population for any game after awhile.
People stop wanting to play the same game so much, as well as not as many new players just getting headsets.
I'm more surprised that it held those high numbers for so long.
That just proves how good the game really is.
The 25K it has now is still more than the 6K peak it was at before Christmas,
and I would expect another spike whenever something big comes to the game, or maybe even next Christmas.
Also remember it's around Summer, so don't expect everyone to get on monke game and sweat while it's already hot out,
or they are out doing their own thing.
Part 2: Community
This I can totally agree with, the community is full of little kids that think anything is funny,
including a specific word that starts with the letter N that I won't be saying.
This along with mod menus, people just being stupid, or purposefully annoying,
I can definitely see why people wouldn't want to play as much, but that isn't Gorilla Tag dying,
it's the cycle of a toxic fanbase, unfortunately since it's a lot of kids, there is a lot of toxic activity going on either towards, or from the kids themselves.
Which I would say little kids shouldn't even be on VR in the first place.
Part 3: Updates
People complain that the updates are only cosmetics, but why wasn't the whole Gorilla Tag is dead thing popping off when we went a full year without a real new map,
not counting city, since it's not a tag map.
The cosmetics that we get pretty frequently are huge for personal customization, but I would agree they are a bit expensive, or should be more not limited ones as well.
When the game fully released, updates weren't ever too frequent. Fixes, some additions like Canyons, but we didn't get much new stuff.
Cosmetics coming to the game was one of the biggest updates.
Going back a bit to mod menus, whenever these types of things run rampant, it takes priority, thus delaying other kinds of updates.
Part 4: Content
A lot of YouTubers have been making video about this topic, and a lot of it boils down to running out of ideas for videos for Gorilla Tag.
I can whole heartedly agree about this. The game has been out for a relatively long time, and the premise of the game is simple,
tag the monke.
There's not too much you can do with that in the first place.
That's why people made minigames, story videos, and mods to try to spice it up.
Part 5: The Ending
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the game, how it's going, and what it should have in the future,
but no matter what, the game itself is good, and going strong.
I do hope for some more stuff to come to the game,
Gorilla Tag is in my opinion, the actual best VR game ever.
All I wanted from this game was immersive VR parkour, and right from when I first saw it,
I knew it had what I wanted.
The game is great, numbers are down, but up from what we had before the Christmas rush, and I can see it continuing further years as one of the best VR games ever.
Again, I don't think Gorilla Tag is dying.
