The Neolithic revolution and the emergence of communities and societies
The human history can be divided into two major periods, i) The hunting and gathering:- It was a period when human beings got their food by hunting wild animals and gathering wild fruits. - It was the longest period.
ii) The period of civilization:- It is characterized by -the beginning of farming -settlement - social division of labor and urbanization
The stone age- It was period when tools were made from stones. - It was the longest period of all. - The stone age can be divided into 3 periods. Those are Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic.
1)paleolithic(Old stone age)- Lasted up to 9000BC and was the longest stone age. Human beings began to use languages at this age. - Fire was discovered. - The first stone tools, hand axe were made. - People lived in caves.
2)The Mesolithic (middle stone age)-This period lasted 9000BC to 4000BC - It was a period of Transition from Paleolithic to Neolithic ages.
3)Neolithic (new stone age revolution)- This was the period from about 8000BC to 4000BC. - During this period -farming was introduced and human beings started to produce food - communities and societies were formed - religious houses were constructed - Human beings domesticated plants & animals
In general Neolithic revolution made human beings food producer and community dwellers.
