Gravity Gauntlet C w/Nemi's lava boost strat
5Been trying to figure this out for a while now, and starting to get my bearings here. Not a clean IL of the star itself, but if I keep practicing, I think I'll find this strat preferable to the standard lava boost method.
This was not meant to be an optimized IL of the star, but rather, a "proof of concept" video for the star.
Quick tutorial on how I do this strat for anybody's who's interested:
- I use the thin line as a reference point for where to ground pound after the sideflip, though I don't think the exact positioning needs to be super specific.
- When hitting the lava, I hold up-right for the first two bounces.
- Shortly after the third bounce (again, timing isn't too strict but it needs to be somewhat quick), I switch to right.
- Midway through the fall, I switch from right to left (I don't really have a good visual cue for when exactly to switch, so I use how much lava is still on the screen as my reference point for now).
- When landing on the platform, I hold up-left to keep Mario from bouncing off the front of the platform (it barely worked on this attempt; this is still something I haven't quite figured out yet).
