Guilty Gear XX Accent Core - Sometimes BEAT Counters Lie
...and sometimes Clean Hit modifiers believe them.
Rough explanation: Bridget's 5P has a post-recovery animation that occurs automatically if it's not canceled into anything. If you hit him out of said 5P, this animation will still occur automatically should he return to neutral on the ground. Even though Bridget can cancel out of this animation at any time, command throwing him will confuse the game into thinking it was an inescapable situation and considers it a continuation of the original combo, even though the damage scaling resets as soon as he recovers. It's treated much like a Burst throw in that respect.
Now, the glitch in itself isn't a new discovery or anything, it's been around since Bridget's inclusion in Guilty Gear XX. That said, there is a nuance to this glitch that's new to Accent Core, specifically in regards to Sol. You see, the damage scaling isn't fooled by the BEAT counter, but Sol's Clean Hit modifier is. This means that the first and second Clean Hit Sidewinders landed after the Bukkirabou ni Nageru will hit as if they were the fifth and sixth respectively.
Thanks to this, the last couple of Clean Hit Sidewinders do absolutely barbaric damage, and as a result you can land a relatively painless death combo... even though it's technically two combos that you've just fooled the game into thinking is one. But hey, the BEAT counter doesn't lie, right?
