[Gwent Homecoming] Discussion: Passing and the hand size limit
An in-depth discussion about passing, card advantage and the new hand size limit introduced in Homecoming.
Basic summary for Round 1:
- Never pass with 8+ cards in hand (if your opponent does this, just dump your carryover cards down to 7 and win on even).
- Passing with 6-7 cards in hand is OK if you're willing to give up the round. Can be used if you're massively losing Round 1, but think you can stay ahead in Round 2. (If your opponent does this, play as many cards as needed to beat them, down to 4, then dump down to 7 in Round 2 and pass.)
- Passing with 5 cards in hand is mostly the same as in classic Gwent, except you can't force your opponent down 2 cards. (If your opponent passes with 5 cards in hand and you can't beat them in 1, just concede and try to stay ahead in Round 2.)
- Passing with 4 or fewer cards in hand is exactly the same as in classic Gwent.
Sorry about the ugly white screen, and my camera cutting. I should've just kept the full output from my camera!
