After releasing the first guide on how to build an unlootable i got some awesome feedback on reddit and here on youtube. The old design had some flaws in it which i will erase in this “the unlootable base v2” video to make sure that your loot really is secure and unlootable.

The core idea however is still the best option in achieving an unlootable base design (in regards to effect and investment) - we will just enhance the way we are building it and adjust it to certain methods raiders will use against us.

The tutorial on building it like this remains still the same: You build a large shelter sticking out of your base foundation and place another upper level layer shelter on top of it as shown in this video. Place the metal gate in a way that when it opens it aligns the large shelters. Add a small shelter on the right side and build one staircases to access its roof.
Now build an animal trap on the small shelter so you are able to jump on the closed metal gate. My previous design had another staircases built on top of the right shelter but this made it possible to jump from the top of the staircases on top of the large upper shelter (thanks for the input to Biberteddy from reddit). By just placing an animal trap as a stepping stone you can avoid this issue.

In the end you destroy the large shelter. This is important as otherwise you give raiders an opportunity to destroy your metal gate, jump on top of the large shelter and move across the little edge next to the door in the upper layer shelter. Placing biofuel there, destroying the door and entering your upper level shelter would be too easy this way.

This is still the basic core design as it gives you the best option on protection. However we will this time use the surroundings to our advantage. Some reddit members (credits in the video description) stated that it would be possible to simply blow off the big upper level shelter and access the now freely floating chests by simply jumping on top of a car. As shown in this video we are going to use the surroundings to our advantage. Position your base on top of a small hill so the ground is falling off and you create a bigger distance between ground and the upper level shelter.

Another mechanics to further enhance the safety is to place a tamper (or even another deck foundation if the gap is big enough for it) underneath the upper level shelter. Now nobody will be able to build anything there to use it as a ladder to your chests. I personally would still make sure that no car can enter the area underneath by placing metal walls around the tamper and further securing it by placing basic shelters around the base as well.

The more resources they need to spend the better it is for you.
Basic Shacks are very easy to build and are not very resource intense as you basicly need only an axe and some trees to build them. I recommend to place them like this to use open doors as further barricades, to close the gaps between 2 basic shelters.

This way your base becomes unlootable and your treasures will be safe.

Reaching your own safe rooms works by closing the gate, jumping on top of it, jumping on the large shalter, opening the door from above and then jumping into it.

On a personal note: Next time i would build this kind of base, i would place a tamper ground underneath the core base, to make it even a little bit higher and to be able to place metal walls around it. The tamper would be placed in a way that the deck foundation is on the right side as close as possible to the edge so the metal wall which you could place on the left side is as far away as possible from the big shelter and i would place the lower tamper in a way that the upper level shelter is in the center of the ground floor tamper.

Reason behind is that i want to avoid giving raiders the opportunity to use my own walls as stepping stones to reach the upper level shalter. But more on how to secure your base even further will be provided in my next guide.
