Hard Magic: Devlog 2 - Implementing magical girl form swapping during battle
Part 2 of my devlog for my fully 3D turn-based RPG, Hard Magic. This time we look into scrapped mechanics of weapon switching, and thanks to a last minute epiphany, the ability to steal magical girl forms from enemy magical girls. Unlike last video, a lot of the content this time was not ready in time, due to the sudden changes made towards the end of the month. I wanted to showcase more of the "Die Hard" elements, but that might be for next time. I did showcase vent crawling though, so that's a plus!
Made with the RPG Developer Bakin engine, it's going to have a mixture of both the ATB system and the weakness system from Shin Megami Tensei.
The game is far from being completed, and this video reflects the progress of the game after a month of development.
