Ghost Village

Not all that much to say about Ghost Village. Visually, it sort of looks like someone jammed a few assets together. Gameplay-wise, there's not really any difficulty or interest to speak of. You stand in zombies for 5 or so seconds, then you stand in your girlfriend for 5 or so seconds.

Souls of the Sunken

Fullscreen didn't work, so you get the jam page as part of the recording, sorry. A fairly effective little story with snappy text dialogue (it was well timed for me, which means it's probably faster than most people are comfortable with). It landed well, but it spent a bit too long on the end sequence to my taste.

The Bends

This one's by Phantom Sloth, which did Vestigial and The Diving Bell, two games that I've played previously on this channel (one in the Wretched Weekend jam and the other in Dread X Collection 2).

First thought: this really needs some checkpoints. When I died after what felt like 5 minutes of walking, I didn't have any motivation to try it again. It had a nice environment and felt like it was ramping up to something interesting. Definitely worth a try, especially if the dev adds checkpoints later on.

Estate of Death

This one did have a full screen button, but it didn't go completely full screen. The different ammo types were interesting, although I couldn't tell what the difference between them was, if anything. It would have been nice if they were color-coded or something to indicate which I should use. Ammo was a bit tight, with me having to melee a boss to death (and close on the flying ones).

That Night

I know head bob is much maligned, but in a game like this where you're walking along a straight road, it can help prevent the feeling that you're gliding along. Some effective use of sounds (although I think they were 2D sounds, so turning wouldn't identify the source). The model used was cool, although not having anything actually chasing you when you looked back was a bit disappointing. Still, it's a jame game so you don't have time for everything.
