Scientists have discovered a new candidate for the most distant galaxy ever identified. While not conclusively proven, HD1 is thought to be an ancient primordial dwarf galaxy, lying more than 30 billion light years from Earth today. It is postulated to be the farthest [Z=13.27], and therefore oldest [13.45bn years], galaxy that we've ever identified.
