After far too long, I've finally managed to get the Engineer video finished. Reasonably happy, but it is a bit of a long one. There's a fair bit of gameplay footage at the end there (10 mins or so), which pads the overall time a bit more than normal (5 mins).
I'm also somewhat annoyed at the latest patch, as it not only screwed around with my sound input and effectively made my expensive microphone sound shit in game, but also graphically there seems to be an issue where some maps are slow-rendering at low settings for textures, and I can't seem to change that. I run everything at Epic settings, except shadows are at Medium, but some maps render as if I've got it at Low. I suspect they'll fix this soon....the Devs for this game are pretty good.
What else can I tell you here? Engineer is harder than most roles, because you can stuff it up quite easily.....that is, your team will berate you if you put stuff in the wrong spot (Squad Leaders - maybe be a bit more gentle on your Engineers?). Hopefully this video gives the newer player pause to think about what the role means, and as always I encourage vets to take a look and see if they can pick up on any useful information or tips. Certainly my Engineer playstyle needs some work - I'm more of an aggressive player, which doesn't generally match what an Engineer does.
Anyway, I hope the vid is suitably entertaining. Thanks for watching!
