The idea is simple, ice sculptors and cryomancers both summon bodyguards when they enter the fight and when you duplicate them. These bodygaurds are completely free expendable units. Arcane heroes start with duplicate and thus you dont have to worry about waiting long, just get the tier 2 buildings and your golden to start the strat
now as for why this strat is really good even though it doesnt seem that good is because of infinite scaling, everytime you duplicate you are getting 2 times as much unit power as you should, the ice engines are 3+ unit power and you get 2 of them and the cryomancers are 6+, so even tho the spell says it will only affect (example) 60 unitpower worth of units (meaning it should add about 60) it ends up making 120+ unit power worth of units. the ice engines die fairly quickly but the cryomancers and their duplicates remain unharmed so they can just be duplicated again spawning 4 times as many ice engines to start tanking. and you can dupe the duplicates
it is possible that mirage would be far better for this because the clones it makes are weaker so they take up less "unitpower space" so you can dupe them more easily, but unfortunately you dont easily get it as the arcane
