How I make thumbnails for my Youtube videos with GIMP tutorial guide

I am not a particularly great graphics designer, but I have made Youtube videos for quite some time and in this video, I show how I make my thumbnails. Nothing too flashy, just good, basic design with an image of myself, a background image, and some text with drop shadow applied to make it stand out better.

You also want a font that you can use commercially, either you buy a license or use one that is free for commercial use. You can find thousands of free fonts here: https://www.1001fonts.com/free-for-commercial-use-fonts.html
For graphics, you can use your own, or perhaps you have a license to use some source material (Blizzard art can be used for Blizzard game videos, for example), or you can look for free graphics on the internet. These places can be useful:
