How to BRIDGE a CBN Modem CD8000 (cable). Can't log in? Watch this! Primus, TekSavvy
How to use a CBN Modem CD8000 in bridge mode when your ISP says you can’t.
\nSo, you want to use your own super powerful gaming router with your new Gigabit Fibre (Fibe? Ignite?) with your ISP’s modem but the tech support from Primus Teksavvy, COGECO, Rogers, Bell, Oxio, whatever, says you can’t?
Sure you can!
\nBut you try logging into the modem and nothing happens? The "ipconfig /all" IP address (addresses) does not work?
Well, THAT IS A SIGN YOUR MODEM IS ALREADY IN BRIDGED MODE! And you should not reset it.
But even though it is bridged, when you plug in your router, no usual setting works with that modem? Ok, so, what do you do now?
\nI CAN HELP! You justfollow the steps in the video! In short, you will copy the settings from their ROUTER into your router.
\nSo here are the written steps. It should work the CBN cable or DSL modems, or any other brand like D-Link, and with any Internet provider. \nFor instance, this setup was done with a CBN cable modem model CD8000 and a TP-link Deco X50 “pod” router. \n\n===STEPS===\n1) Connect from a PC or smartphone to the router provided to you and follow the setups instructions in the setup card provided.*\n2) Download the app “TP-link Deco” and create an account, follow the steps to add the device to your account. You will have created a Owner The Owner TP-Link ID.\n3) Close the app, open a web browser and visit http://tplinkdeco.net . You have to do this because the app does offer the pages you need.\n4) Use the password you created to access the router administration page, i.e., use the Owner TP-Link ID is the password.\n5) Go to "advanced settings -/ Internet" and advanced settings -/ LAN" (varies by brand and modethen and copy / write down the settings you see there. Also review and write down the LAN settings. \n6) Now connect your computer to your own router, the one you want to use instead of the provided by Primus or other ISL. Follow the step 4 above to login. \n7) Go to "advanced settings -/ Internet", and "advanced settings -/LAN." Set it the IP as dynamic and paste the information you copied from the ISP’s router. **\n8) Connect the modem to the router as per the setup guide.\n9) Done! \n\n*You can connect to the router via direct connect (blinking blue light) during the setup steps or simply log in to the wifi SSID provided using the password in the bottom of the pod. ETHERNET CABLE connection to a device directly is recommended. \n** ⚠️ Warning ⚠️ Do not forget to copy your old settings before you change them in case you do not fall in 💕 love💕with your new provider.
