This is an update for my other video on how to downgrade from Oracle Java 7 to Apple Java 6 on OSX.

Apple his stopped developing it's Java plugin and it's now being developed by Oracle. The Oracle Java 7 has two major downsides: a lot of Java applets get a white screen with an "illegal url redirect" message, and it does not work with Google Chrome. Java 7 is also extremely buggy in Firefox.

Here are the Terminal codes:

sudo mkdir -p /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/disabled

sudo mv /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/disabled

sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Java/Support/Deploy.bundle/Contents/Resources/JavaPlugin2_NPAPI.plugin /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin

sudo ln -sf /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Commands/javaws /usr/bin/javaws
