WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned chat platform, will now let you make UPI payments. The new addition makes it easy to send and receive money from any WhatsApp contact or for that matter, any bank account with a UPI ID linked to it.
“Just like every feature in WhatsApp, payments is designed with a strong set of security and privacy principles, including entering a personal UPI PIN for each payment,” the company said.
How to set up payments on WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp from the app drawer or home screen.
Select the action overflow menu (three vertical dots on the top right corner).
Hit Payments. ...
Select Add new payment method.
Select Accept and continue to get started.
Choose your bank from the list.
