How To Fix F4SE: Remove Fallout 4 Patch and Disable Future Updates!

Summary: Open Steam Console, find 3 numbers to get the version of Fallout 4 executable that you want, put in code plus 3 numbers, copy and paste new file to your FO4 directory.

Instructions (this should work for future updates as well):

Step 1: In Steam, right click Fallout 4 - Properties, ‘Updates’ tab, select “Only update when the game is launched”. Close

Step 2: Open Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer & type the
following into the address bar: steam:**nav*console.
Press Enter.

Step 3: When prompted to “Switch to Steam Client Bootstrapper” Select YES.

Step 4: In a web browser, go to steamdb.info . Type in "Fallout 4" in search box, press Enter.

Step 5: Copy down the "AppID" of Fallout 4. This is your first number.

Step 6: Click on the AppID.

Step 7: Cick on "Depots" on the left side.

Step 8: Copy the "Fallout 4 exe" ID number. Add it to your code, with a space between this ID and the first ID.

Step 9: Click on the "Fallout 4 exe" ID.

Step 10: Click on "Manifests"

Step 11: Copy the "Manifest ID" of the version of FO4 that works with FO4 Script Extender, probably the second one down.

Step 12: Highlight and copy the entire string of numbers (make sure you include a space between each)

Step 13: Go to the Steam Console. If it isn't already, type in "download_depot *paste string of numbers*"

Step 14: Copy the file location from the console into Windows Explorer, or navigate to it in Windows Explorer.

Step 15: Copy the newly downloaded Fallout4.exe file from the location above and paste it into your Fallout 4 folder.

One last thing to add (isn't there always with tutorials?): Back up your original Fallout4.exe file to a backup folder, or rename it Fallout4backup.exe. Once you have the version you want that works with F4SE, make sure you back that up too. In the future, when F4SE is updated to work with the latest version of of FO4, go ahead and update both, and make a backup of your then current Fallout 4.exe. Copy and pasting a single file to fall back is a LOT less hassle than the method in this video.
