While downloading and installing Windows 10 update 1709, error may occur indicating it failed to complete the Fall Creators Update: The update fails to install or feature update to windows 10 version 1709 failed .
Error messages vary from code 0x80080008 to 0x80d02002.

To fix that problem:

Fix 1- You may first try Windows Update Troubleshooter.

Fix 2- Launch Command Prompt as Administrator and type the following command : SFC /SCANNOW
Wait until scan is finished then reinstall Windows 10 1709 update.

Fix 3- Remove the Windows Update folder after disabling the Windows update service.
