Hi there! In today’s watercolor lesson we’ll look at COLORS, how to ENJOY them and how to use them more freely! 🎨

This is something I struggled with as a beginner, and so I really wanted to address. I used to have a tendency to mute all colors I was using.
I then overcorrected by going VERY saturated (which is what I’ll show you here) 😁

These days I do tend to try and move more towards “natural” colors, but I still feel like using strong saturated colors is a good means of creating a focal point and enhancing it.

I hope this will help you improve in this aspect of watercolor painting! 😊🙏🏼

Here’s a link to the edited reference photo - with and without the grid: https://imgur.com/a/eLpxeHy

(And as a side-note, here’s the ORIGINAL reference photo, before I cropped it, if you’re interested: https://pixabay.com/photos/model-woman-composition-young-model-2373312/)

The dimensions of the painting (excluding the masking tape, so purely where it's painted) are 16.8 x 26 cm.

Every square in the grid is approximately 8.4 x 8.4 cm (so vertically dividing the painting perfectly down the middle).

Good luck!
Let me know how it goes in a comment down below, or via email / FB / Instagram (:

And I’ll talk to you soon,
- Liron
