How To Use Split Screen Mode On Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7:
There are two main ways to activate Split Screen on your Galaxy device: through the recent apps menu or using a shortcut. Here’s how you can do it:
Method 1: Using the Recent Apps Menu
Step 1: Begin by opening the first app that you want to use. This could be anything, such as a messaging app, browser, or social media platform.
Step 2: Tap on the Recent Apps button (three horizontal lines), located at the bottom-left of your screen. In case you have gestures enabled, you can swipe up from the bottom and hold for a few seconds. This will display all the apps you’ve recently used.
Step 3: In the Recent Apps screen, find the app you want to use in Split Screen. Tap on the app icon at the top of the app’s preview window. A menu will appear with several options. Tap on "Open in Split Screen View".
Step 3: Once the first app is placed on one side of the screen, your app drawer will open automatically. Select the second app you want to use. The second app will now appear on the remaining half of the screen.
Method 2: Using a Shortcut
Step 1: Start by opening the app you want to use in Split Screen mode. Ensure you're using navigation buttons.
Step 2: Tap on the Recent Apps button, then press and hold the app you want to use. From the mini-options, tap on the split screen icon (screen divided into two). This will trigger the Split Screen mode.
If you don't see the mini-options right away, tap on the blue bar at the top of the app to reveal them.
Step 3: Choose the second app from your home screen or app drawer to populate the other half of your screen.
Step 4: Resize the Split Screen
You can adjust the size of the two apps by dragging the divider bar in the middle of the screen. You can make one app larger or smaller depending on your needs.
Step 5: Swap Apps
If you want to swap the apps' positions, tap and hold the divider and drag it to the opposite side. You can also tap on the divider to reveal three options and tap on the two arrows facing opposite directions.
Step 6: You can also tap on the split screen icon to change the split screen to vertical or horizontal, depending on what you prefer.
Step 7: Add 3rd App to Split Screen
To add a third app in split screen view, swipe up from the bottom to reveal the dock. Tap on the apps menu icon to reveal the app menu.
Select the third app from the menu. Now you can swap, interchange or resize the three apps as highlighted earlier.
Step 8: Add 4th App to Split Screen
To add a fourth app in split screen view, swipe up from the bottom to reveal the dock. Tap on the apps menu icon to reveal the app menu.
Select the fourth app from the menu. The fourth app will appear as a floating window which you can drag to move around, while still using any of the other three apps that are open in split screen.
Step 9: To exit split screen or close an app you no longer want to use, drag the 4th app to the bottom of the screen. once the 'Close' option appears, release the app.
For the rest of the three apps, drag the divider bar all the way up, down or on the sides to close.
Note: Some apps don't offer split screen. However, you can still use a workaround to use them in split screen. This workaround can apply to apps like Instagram and Netflix.
