HPC Simulations of Biological Systems to Understand and Treat Cancer with Dr. Carlos F. Lopez
Dr. Carlos F. Lopez uses numerical methods to model complex biological processes and understand their relationship to cancer cell response to drug treatments. He works with a talented research group at Vanderbilt University and the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
They combine a physical and chemical theory with numerical methods in High Performance Computing environments to create systems-level descriptions of molecular signal processing networks and signal transduction cascades in cancer. This High Performance Computing
hosted methodology allows them to deepen the fundamental understanding of the rules that govern functional genomics and systems biology in the pursuit of new therapies for cancer.
