For being the first boss as well as a tutorial boss, this battle is pretty easy. The Guard Vermin's attacks are much stronger than the enemies you encountered so far, but your stats are high enough to handle the damage he deals so far and heal it off. Plus, we have Neptune's HDD form, which makes her much stronger than in her current state. Defeating the Guard Vermin wins you the first Key Fragment of the game, which is needed before you can free Histoire.

Also, we encounter IF, our second party member and begin our first real dungeon.
