Story: I broke my $841 Acer Predator (XB271HU bmiprz) monitor the other night playing Rec Room on Steam on my HTC Vive. It was a very sad moment when I pulled up the HMD and realized what happened. Fortunately, the monitor has come down in price since I purchased it ($600), but it was still painful to throw all that cash away for no reason. After the incident, I realized I needed to take some more precautions so I rearranged my room and built this simple, yet effective DIY VR monitor shield.
