Over the past few weeks I have had my car set and glasses taken away from me for various repairs and renovations.

As a result I have felt less like myself and therefore less confident and less motivated.

My glasses in particular were a big deal, I bought them during a very transformative part of my life as I transitioned from college into the real world. I changed my hair, clothes and appearance, the result was me feeling ready to take on whatever the world had in store for me.

Four years later, having comfortably transitioned into adulthood, I never realized how much of a role I considered my glasses to be playing until I was left without them.
