#IGCvGameBoy: Super Mario Land - Final Bosses & Ending
0I'm going NO Pile on Super Mario Land, but I actually had to think about it, which is more than I expected.
Mario Land is not without merit. There's some fun ideas (especially the Super Ball) and the level design (for the ten platforming stages) is actually really underrated in the annals of 2D Mario games. Fun use of themes, too.
But Mario Land controls *really* badly. Along with haphazard design that's so rough that you'll clip through blocks constantly, and I just can't bring myself to saying it's worth playing today, in 2021. Ultimately, most of my enjoyment came from the dissection itself, so I have to go NO.
And I wouldn't want a remake. I'd rather see a Mario Land REDO with new levels, better balancing, and especially better controls. Oh and ditch the shmup stuff. It sucks.
