IIT Madras Designs India's First Affordable 'Standing Wheelchair'
Researchers at IIT Madras developed India's first indigenously-designed 'standing wheelchair' called 'Arise'. It enables people with locomotor disability to shift from a sitting to a standing position without assistance and costs Rs 15,000 only.
