Ikari III: The Rescue was a bit of a departure from the previous two games, because there was almost no shooting involved. This game plays mostly like a top-down view version of a beat-em up arcade game. There are, however, a few moments when it becomes a shooter.

The story for the Arcade version goes as follows: The child of a presidential candidate is kidnapped by terrorists. The two best soldiers have been asked to take this matter into their own hands.

RétroGaming 2.0 ;0) Vous présente "Ikari III : The Rescue"La différence la plus notable entre les jeux Ikari Warriors et d'autres qui leur ressemblaient était l'utilisation d'un joystick rotatif, qui permettait aux joueurs de marcher dans une direction et de tirer dans une autre. Ikari III: The Rescue était un peu différent des deux jeux précédents, car il n'y avait presque pas eu de tir. Ce jeu se joue principalement comme une version vue de haut en bas d'un jeu d'arcade beat-em up. Il y a cependant quelques moments où il devient un tireur.

L'histoire de la version Arcade est la suivante : L'enfant d'un candidat à la présidentielle est kidnappé par des terroristes. Les deux meilleurs soldats ont été invités à prendre cette affaire en main.
