Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun to samolot sportowy i łącznikowy oblatany w 1934 roku. Pierwszy egzemplarz wziął udział w zawodach Challenge International de Tourisme 1934 w Warszawie. Produkowany także po II Wojnie Światowej, we Francji jako Nord 1000 Pingouin.
Doświadczenia z jego użytkowania były podstawą zaprojektowania Messerschmitt Bf 109.
Peenemünde ośrodek badawczy założony w 1937 roku. Powstały tutaj rakiety V-1 oraz V-2. Obecnie muzeum oraz czynne lotnisko cywilne.
