This video isn't all that interesting. It's another ground attack. I don't shoot down any planes. There was a lot happening in the sky on my way here, but I didn't bother uploading the VR video for it.

In this video I pretty much just take out a line of vehicles (firing masses of unlimited rockets since this is the last mission), and I stop a train (the only one I had a chance to shoot at this whole campaign) then take out its AA caboose because it shot me down a couple of other times. I try to take out a few more vehicles but the mission gave me the clear to head home, so I just flew away. I noticed one of the last bombs I dropped hit the upper part of a tree, so I guess it didn't explode? Probably a bug.

I was disappointed that the Ice Ring campaign didn't involve any escort of other planes, or any planned dogfighting (a scramble would have been cool). Hopefully some of the other scripted campaigns offer missions like that. Despite this campaign being at first just shooting down cargo planes, then later just performing ground attacks, flying in the winter was really nice. I'm trying out the Achtung Spitfire! campaign now. If I get any cool missions, I'll be sure to upload them.

Would I recommend this campaign? If flying an IL-2, shooting down cargo planes, ground attacks, occasionally avoiding or destroying AA and flying in the winter is interesting to you, then sure. It's only $10 at regular price (requires Battle of Stalingrad). Just don't expect any dramatic buildup in the action except for the occasional moment that might occur incidentally. There is an increased intensity in a few of the final missions, but considering how intense this game could be with scrambles, dogfighting and aircraft escort, this campaign is very tame.
